How can I stop this sort of connect string being interpreted by OraFAQ as an email address:

sqlplus scott/tiger@127.0.0.1@1521/orcl

I know I can put it in [code] tags, but sometimes that really isn't appropriate. I tried the [notag] tag, and a few other things.

(I need an emoticon for "realize this is probably a FAQ and hope not to get flamed for asking".)

sqlplus scott/tiger@127.0.0.1
sqlplus scott/tiger@127.0.0.1:1521
sqlplus scott/tiger@127.0.0.1:1521/orcl

No, I'm not that smart, Michel taught me that little trick. You need to write monkey's (at sign's) HTML code which consists of:
- ampersand &
- hash #
- decimal ASCII of the monkey sign 64
- semi-colon ;

Forgot to mention: you'd experience the same with, for example, square brackets (used in regular expressions): look at this rubbish code:

regexp_substr('my string 123', ':digit:+$')

Instead of a square bracket, I should have used & # 91 ;

How bizarre.
(which was a one-hit-wonder by OMC 20 years ago)

They used to sing that song about me where I worked in 1999.
