Using Golden Gate to replicate a VERY LARGE OLTP database to a different database server being used for Business Objects Reporting. This is just a temp solution until a true data warehouse is designed and implemented.

The question I have is the best way to tune the GG database for long-running query processing since I basically have an OLTP database from which I need to get the best reporting performance possible...,

My first thought is to take the init parm defaults, gather system stats during the reporting cycle and start from there. Should I stop the replicat process while gathering these stats so as not to create a conflict between real-time updates and what I'm trying to accomplish in regard to reporting thru-put?

I appreciate suggestions from anyone that has also encountered this type of situation. Thanks.
